Marauders close out season with third-place finish

MOHNTON, Pa. – The Millersville men's golf team earned third place out of the nine teams competing in the Alvernia Spring to close out its 2021-22 season. 'Ville finished 12 strokes behind invite champion West Chester and one stroke behind second-place Stevens. The Marauders were able to edge out Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) foe, Bloomsburg by one stroke.

Bobby Lugiano led the Marauders yet again, finishing tied for third overall with 75, three-over par. Lugiano's performance marks his fourth consecutive top-10 finish. He was joined in the top-10 by Christopher Knox who shot a 78 in his single round of play.

The Marauders have now earned third, fourth, and fifth-place finishes during their spring semester of play, a large improvement from the team's fall campaign. They'll look to carry their late success into the 2022 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Millersville finished third overall behind the play of Lugiano, Knox, and Noah Keener, who shot an 80 which landed him eight-over par. Drew Vonstein and Ty Morral followed with an 82 each, tying for 21^st overall.
