Bobby Lugiano earns share of 34th at NCAA Atlantic/East Regional

VICTOR, N.Y. – The Millersville men's golf team saw its season come to an official departure Saturday evening as Bobby Lugiano finished play at the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional and missed out on the NCAA Finals by two strokes.
The sophomore shot a 76 (+4) in day one and followed with two 74s (+2) in days two and three, which put him in a race for the final individual qualifying spot with a 224 (+8) overall. He fell short to Concord's Noah Clark, who finished his three rounds with a 222 (+6) and the individual leader, Yadhu Urs from Wheeling, who finished with a 220 (+4).
Despite not qualifying for a trip to the NCAA Finals, Lugiano still managed to finish with a share of 34th place ahead of 69 other golfers. This tops his 2021 performance at the event, as he finished with a 238 through three rounds and a share of 40th place.
Lugiano's appearance marked the ninth consecutive season that a Marauder has appeared at the NCAA Atlantic Regional and the 17th time head coach Scott Vandergrift has led a team or individual to the event.
