Marauders score in bunches in sweep of USciences

Reigning PSAC East Athlete of the Week Jimmy Losh continued to do his job as Millersville's table setter. He reached base six times and scored four runs in the doubleheader. His day included a 4-for-5 outing in game one. Thomas Caufield smacked his team-leading 10th home run of the season in game one, making him just the 10th player in program history to hit double-digit home runs in a season.
Millersville has now scored at least nine runs in four-straight games and 17 times total on the season. The sweep pushed Millersville's record to 26-8 overall. Millersville also improved to 15-0 all-time against USciences.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• Millersville trailed 2-0 after the first inning but erupted for six runs on five hits and two walks in the second. The inning included RBI singles from John Seibert and Jimmy Losh, a two-run double from Bren Taylor and a two-run homer from Caufield. Millersville's five-run sixth was highlighted by Losh's RBI triple, a two-run single from Luke Trainer and Seibert's bases-loaded walk. Losh, Taylor, Caufield and Trainer combined to go 11-for-18 with seven runs and nine RBIs. Losh's four hits matched a career-high. On the mound, Sam Morris (2-2) picked up the win, tossing two scoreless innings with three strikeouts.
• In game two, the six of Millersville's first seven batters reached base without a hit. Five walks and a hit batsman was followed by a two-run single from Justin Taylor, giving the Marauders an early 6-0 advantage. While USciences cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the inning, Millersville pushed the lead back to six in the second with an RBI double from Keegan Soltis, a run on a wild pitch, and a run-scoring single from Jimmy Kirk. Millersville finished the game with just five hits and Soltis and Justin Taylor had two apiece. Millersville, however, drew nine walks. Evan Rishell (1-1) earned his first career victory, going four innings and allowing three runs on four hits and three walks. Kris Pirozzi picked up his fifth save by tossing a shutout seventh inning.
