REGIONAL LINKS

ABOUT THE MATCH

  • Following a 1-2 road stand, consisting of three consecutive PSAC East matches, the Marauders return to Pucillo Gymnasium this Saturday to take on Dominican University New York in a non-conference matchup.
  • For Millersville, this is one of two remaining non-conference matches on the team’s schedule. This is the final non-conference match of the year for the Chargers.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • The Marauders have played their best ball at home, going 7-4 from Pucillo. ’Ville has also done well in non-conference action, going 9-5 in 14 non-conference matches. A large part of that is thanks to the team’s early season success, as the Marauders started the season a perfect 7-0.
  • Millersville has had the benefit of consistency in its lineup, with four Marauders having appeared in every set this season.
  • The Marauder offensive continues to be paced by redshirt junior Rose Vail. She leads the team in kills (197) and points (218) while ranking second in solo blocks (38) and total blocks with 40.
  • Fellow redshirt junior Kylie Airesman has continued her strong play, having recorded a new season high in kills at Kutztown with 15. She ranks second on the team in kills (168) and points with 187.5.
  • Emma Ludwig has been the team’s most consistent player this year, having totaled 598 assists and 240 digs. She has eclipsed 20 or more assists in 21 of the teams 22 matches this season.
  • Becca Dalstad has also put together a strong campaign, recording a team high 356 digs as the Marauder libero. She has recorded 10 or more digs in 19 matches.

SCOUTING THE DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY CHARGERS

  • The Chargers have relied on a young core featuring several freshman who have made big contributions to the teams success.
  • The offense has relied on freshman Elizabeth Perez and sophomore Kaitlyn Carr who have 175 and 153 kills, respectively. Carr ranks second on the team despite playing in only 44 of the teams 69 sets. Perez on the other hand, has played the second most sets on the team with 64.
  • Freshman setter Alessandra Pantoja has had a busy start to her collegiate career, having played in a team high 67 sets and recording 579 assists.  Only Pantoja and Perez have appeared in every match for the Chargers.
  • Dominican does have some size with their young pair of middle blockers. Aaliyah Ellis (56) leads the team in blocks while freshman Savannah Tody ranks second with 32.
Dominican is hovering around a .500 season thus far. Looking at their kills per set, team hitting percentages and mutual opponents it looks like it will be a fairly even match. We should be well rested, and we play well at home. The goal is to play well and get back on track so we can have a little momentum heading into the home stretch of our conference matches.
Brian Smith, Millersville head coach
