
Fall season gets started for women's tennis team

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Millersville women's team opened its fall portion of the schedule with a trip to the Bloomsburg Invitational over the weekend. Six Marauders were in action in singles and doubles.
The invitational featured doubles draws with a tournament format and five singles draws with players playing as many as three matches.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
• Newcomer Aneesa Malik was Millersville's top singles performer, winning all three matches in the maroon draw. All three wins came against PSAC opponents, and she won five of her six sets by a 6-0 score. Malik also paired with Chloe Abramowitz for a 6-4 win in the silver doubles draw.
• Noelle Htwar, Julie Wallace, Maria Ojeda and Kaitlyn Then all went 1-2 in their respective singles draws. Jasmine Morris won her first match, 6-0, 6-0 and went 1-1. She was leading her third match against a Morgan State athlete, but the match did not finish.
