Erb off to strong start at NCAA Super Regional

ERIE, Pa. – After 18 holes at the NCAA East/Atlantic Super Regional, Millersville University's Brady Erb stands in a tie for second place. The Marauder senior opened the 72-hole tournament with a 1-over-par 73 and enters round two just one stroke off the lead.
As a team, however, the Marauders posted a 319 in round one on the 6,883-yard Lake View Country Club course, placing them in 13th out of 16 teams and 14 shots out of the top-four, which advance to the NCAA Championships.
After bogeys on holes No. 2 and No. 3, Erb rallied with nine-straight pars, setting up a final six holes in which he posted three birdies. He birdied both 17 and 18 for a 1-under-par back nine. Erb shot 2-under-par on the par-5 holes.
Erb's 73 was matched by five other golfers, and Davis & Elkins' Sean Addie fired an even-par 72 to take the round one lead. St. Thomas Aquinas (296), Gannon (297), Davis & Elkins (298) and Franklin Pierce (305) turned in the top team scores.
Behind Erb, Bobby Lugiano shot a 7-over-par 79 that included a birdie on No. 2. That score has him tied for 39th. Christopher Knox closed the day in a tie for 66th after shooting an 11-over-par 83. Ronnie Yanoski's 12-over-par score also counted toward the team score.
