
Millersville takes fourth at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Millersville men's golf team battled through a challenging second day, ultimately shooting a two-round team score of 621 (+53) for fourth place overall at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational at the Penn Oaks Golf Club.
The Marauders pulled ahead PSAC rivals California (Pa.), Clarion, Pitt-Johnstown, and tournament host West Chester. IUP pulled ahead of Millersville by three strokes for second followed by Gannon in third. Shepherd landed on top shooting 607 (+39).
Brady Erb led for the Marauders moving up three spots from day one to finish tied for fourth at the end of the tournament. He shot 75-76 for a two-round total of 151 (+9). This marks Erb's third top-10 finish this season and sixth in his career.
Freshman Bobby Lugiano saw his lowest 18-hole score in round one of competition coming in just one-over (72). Lugiano shot 80 (+9) in round two for a two-round total of 152 (+10), a new 36-hole low. He tied for seventh place overall, marking his first top-10 finish as a Marauder.
Christopher Knox saw an improvement in play this tournament shooting back-to-back 79's for a two-day total of 158 (+16). Knox tied for 22nd overall, his first top-25 performance of the season and third of his career.
Carl Ernst earned his first career top-25 finish shooting 160 (+18) to tie for 25th in the 67-person field. The two-day total bests Ernst's 36-hole low by a single stroke. He shot 80 (+9) in both rounds.
Ronnie Yanoski's bested his round-one score by three strokes to move up nine spots on the leaderboard and tie for 33rd. Yanoski shot 83-80 for a two-day total of 163 (+21). Bailey Neveker also tied for 33rd with a two-round score of 163 (+21). Neveker shot 80-83.
Millersville next takes the course at the PSAC Championships on April 9 and 10 at the Hershey Country Club on the east course.
