
Marauders bounce back with sweep of Frostburg State

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - One day after taking its first PSAC loss of the season, the Millersville women's tennis team bounced back by sweeping Frostburg State 7-0 in a non-conference dual at McComsey Tennis Courts Sunday.
Millersville boosted its record back above .500 to 5-4 with the win. Millersville has won three of its last four duals. The win was also Millersville's first 7-0 sweep of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Millersville's top doubles pairing of Julie Wallace and Noelle Htwar improved to 6-3 and won by a 6-0 score for the second time in three days. Jasmine Morris and Kelsey Heckert teamed for a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles, and Maria Ojeda and Lauren Weaver scored a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles. That tandem has now won five of their last six matches.
• Morris won her first No. 1 singles match since the season-opener (6-3, 6-2). Wallace rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2, and Noelle Htwar won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3. Maria Ojeda earned her fifth consecutive victory (6-0, 6-1) at No. 4. Heckert improved to an impressive 7-1 in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5. Weaver celebrated her Senior Day with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 6.
NOTES
• Htwar is now 6-4 on the season in singles, and three of the freshman's losses have come in three sets.
• Sunday was just the second meeting by Millersville and Frostburg State. Millersville has won both match-ups 7-0.
UP NEXT
• Millersville closes the regular season with PSAC East matches on Tueday (vs. Shippensburg) and Wednesday (vs. Shepherd). Seeding has yet to be determined for the PSAC Tournament. The PSAC quarterfinals will be held on April 24.
