Swimming continues win streak to open season

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Millersville University swimming team improved to 4-0 on the season after another dominant win in the pool. Millersville outscored the East Stroudsburg Warriors 166-93 in their first home meet of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jordan Plempel found herself in the MU history books for the second time this fall, setting a new pool record in the 200 IM as she finished the event in 2:13.45, good for fourth all time in Millersville history. That time represents a new home record for the Marauders, beating the previous time by 2.5 seconds.
- Plempel now holds the 10th best time in program history in the 100 backstroke at 1:00.71 and the eighth best time in the 200 backstroke at 2:13.03.
- Carolyn Bolden won the 200 freestyle in 1:59.90, good for ninth all time in program history.
- Alaina Rowe set a new PR in the 1000 freestyle as she placed first with a time of 11:38.09, shaving 5.24 seconds off her previous career best finish.
- Jewels Hepner also set a new career best, as she took second in the 200 freestyle in 2:03.52, cutting 2.43 seconds of her previous fastest time.
- Ilana Jacobson set a PR in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:39.23, which is 0.83 second improvement from her old PR.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- A Marauder finished in first place in 12 of the 14 events over the course of the meet.
- Millersville placed both first and second in five of the 14 events.
- The 166 team-score represents the fourth 100+ point meet of the season for Millersville, as the Marauders have scored 150+ in two out of their four meets to start the season.
