
Day three brings top ten additions and Eckert on the podium

YORK, Pa. - The Millersville University women's swimming team closed out day three of the PSAC Championships with three new additions to the program's all-time top 10 list, multiple season and personal best performances, and a podium finish. Leah Eckert secured the Marauders' third podium appearance of the championships, placing seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Hannah Baumgardner delivered a strong performance, swimming a personal-best 1:03.27 in the 100-yard butterfly during a time trial.
The day began with the 200-yard medley relay, as the team of Abigail Lowman, Eckert, Violet Pizzillo, and Anna Sassaman touched the wall in 1:49.63 to finish 10th overall.
Five Marauders competed in the 500-yard freestyle, with four advancing to finals. Izabella Wreski (5:15.50) and Baumgardner (5:12.20) — who posted a season-best time — qualified for the B-Finals. Claire Weaver (5:19.49) and Jane McClelland (5:18.10) earned spots in the C-Finals. Madison Taylor added a personal-best swim of 5:24.58 in the preliminaries.
In the B-Finals, Wreski improved to a season-best 5:09.00 to place 10th overall. Baumgardner finished 15th with a 5:14.66, marking the fifth-fastest time in program history. In the C-Finals, Weaver placed 19th with a 5:13.55, while McClelland finished 23rd in 5:19.78.
Lowman was the lone Marauder in the 100-yard backstroke preliminaries, clocking a 59.40 to advance to the C-Finals. She went on to win her heat and place 17th overall with a personal-best swim that now ranks fifth-fastest in program history.
In the 100-yard breaststroke preliminaries, Kate Pelagatti recorded a 1:11.60, followed by Kiersten Zecchin at 1:13.26. Eckert qualified for the A-Final and capped off the night with a seventh-place finish, earning a podium spot for the Marauders.
In the 200-yard butterfly, Anna Burrowes qualified for the C-Finals with a personal-best 2:19.25, which ranks 10th all-time in program history. Pizzillo narrowly missed qualifying with a 2:22.35. In the finals session, Burrowes posted a 2:23.54 to wrap up competition.
With multiple record-book performances and another podium finish, the Marauders continue to build momentum heading into the final day of the PSAC Championships.
