Marauders add four new top ten times in PSAC Championships Day One

York, Pa. – The Millersville University women's swimming team opened the 2025–26 PSAC Swimming Championships with a strong showing on day one, adding four new top ten times to the Marauder's history books.
The day began with four Marauders in the 200-yard IM preliminaries. Abigail Lowman was the lone Millersville swimmer to advance, clocking a 2:11.68 to earn a spot in the B-Final. Anna Burrowes finished in 2:22.48, followed closely by Kate Pelagatti at 2:23.17. Kiersten Zecchin rounded out the group with a 2:32.17. In the evening B-Final, Lowman improved her time to a personal-best 2:11.25, placing 15th overall. Her swim now ranks as the second-fastest time in program history on the Marauders' top ten list.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Anna Sassaman posted a personal-best 24.88, while Zecchin recorded a season-best 27.74. Although neither qualified for the finals, both delivered strong performances.
Millersville found success in the 1,000-yard freestyle, placing multiple swimmers in the top 20. Claire Weaver led the Marauders with a 15th-place finish in 10:51.92, just ahead of Jane McClelland (10:52.83). Izabella Wreski followed in 10:55.44, and Madison Taylor broke the 11-minute mark, earning the eighth-fastest time in program history and adding her name to the Marauders' top ten list. Hannah Baumgardner competed in the A-Final during the evening session, finishing 10th with a 10:36.67. Her performance now ranks seventh all-time in program history.
The night concluded with the 800-yard freestyle relay team of Weaver, Wreski, Baumgardner, and Sassaman placing eighth with a time of 7:55.79. Their effort secured the seventh-fastest relay time in program history.
The Marauders return to the pool tomorrow for day two of the PSAC Championships, looking to build on a record-setting opening day.
