MILLERSVILLE, Pa. –
Savannah Rennix scored two goals to lead Millersville to a 3-2 win over Shippensburg on Wednesday night. The win clinched a series sweep over the Raiders.
Rennix started the game right where she left off in the Marauders previous win against Lock Haven when she scored a game-winning goal with less than four minutes to go. The forward got on the right side of an
Emma Elwell cross and sent it past the Raider keeper to give 'Ville the first lead of the match. Rennix struck again less than five minutes later off of a rebounded shot that was sent in by
Cassie Blyth, the junior got on the right end of the rebound and put the Marauders up two 14 minutes in. Shippensburg's K.K. O'Donnell scored in the 34th minute to bring the Raiders within one heading into halftime.
Blyth, who assisted on the second Rennix goal, scored a goal of her own in the 63rd minute off a free kick to put Millersville up two. Shippensburg would score one more goal down the stretch in a comeback effort but came up short.
Millersville (5-4-3, 5-4-2 PSAC East) is currently in the No. 4 spot in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East with five games remaining in the regular season.
