POSTSEASON PRIMER
• We meet again. Millersville, the winner of the PSAC East, and Seton Hill, the No. 4 seed from the PSAC West, are no strangers. The teams split two nine-inning games earlier this season, and this first round game is a rematch of the 2018 PSAC Tournament championship game which Seton Hill won, 5-1. The programs have met in the postseason nine times since 2011, but just two of those meetings were in the PSAC Tournament. While Seton Hill beat Millersville to win the title last season, Millersville beat Seton Hill en route to a conference championship in 2015. Seton Hill holds a 5-4 edge in all postseason games with Millersville.
•  The Marauders have nine PSAC Tournament appearances in Jon Shehan's 12 seasons. Prior to Shehan, Millersville had played in just six PSAC Tournaments. Millersville's last conference championship came in 2015 but the team has reached the championship in each of its last four appearances, finishing as the runner-up in 2014, 2016 and 2018.
• Since the 2013 PSAC Tournament, Millersville is 13-4 in tournament. Millersville has won five consecutive opening round games and six of eight under Shehan. Millersville has also won at least two games in seven of the eight tournament appearances under Shehan. The last time Millersville did not win two games was in 2012. Since the tournament expanded beyond two teams, Millersville has entered as the No. 1 seed from the East in nine times including seven times in the last 11 years.
• Last season, Millersville won extra-inning games against Gannon (10-9) and Mercyhurst (6-2), then beat Bloomsburg (6-1) before falling in the championship game.
• Ben Snyder has been a top offensive performer in two previous trips to the PSAC Tournament. He hit .438 (7-for-16) with a .526 OBP in 2016 and went 7-for-18 (.389) with a .421 OBP in 2018. Cole Friese went 6-for-20 (.300) and drove in five runs but scored just two in last year's tournament. Jimmy Cain led the Marauders with six RBIs in the 2018 tournament.

SERIES VS. SETON HILL
• The all-time series between Millersville and Seton Hill could not be more competitive. Millersville holds a 9-8 edge all-time. The teams first met in 2011. In 2018, Seton Hill not only beat Millersville for the PSAC Championship, it also knocked the Marauders out of the NCAA Atlantic Regional one game shy of the championship. The Griffins also knocked the Marauders out of the regional in 2013 and beat Millersville twice in the 2014 regional. Millersville exacted revenge in 2015, beating Seton Hill in both the PSAC Tournament and again in the regional. That regional was a 13-inning affair that ended on a Dan Stoltzfus walk-off home run. Millersville also won by a 2-1 score in the opening round of the 2016 regional.
• While Millersville and Seton Hill generally play low-scoring games, the two 2019 games were anything but. Millersville won 10-6 on March 16, and Seton Hill won 9-8 the following day. In the two games, Luke Trainer went 3-for-4 and drew six walks. Snyder went 5-for-9 with four runs and two doubles. The teams combined for 45 hits, nine doubles and nine home runs. Drew Miller started the first game and gave up three runs on three hits in 4 1/3 innings. Kris Pirozzi started game two and allowed four runs on four hits and three walks in 2 2/3 innings. Millersville beat Michael Bryja in game one. Bryja was the pitcher that held Millersville to one total run in two postseason match-ups in 2018. Millersville tagged him for five runs on 11 hits in 4 1/3 in March. Marshall McGraw, who leads Seton Hill in starts, gave up four runs on four hits and six walks in 4 1/3 innings in game two. Millersville used six pitchers in that game two match-up.

SCOUTING THE GRIFFINS
• In both 2017 and 2018, Seton Hill entered the PSAC Tournament as the No. 4 seed but went 4-0 to win the tournament both seasons. Last season, the Griffins ran through the field by outscoring teams 43-11. Millersville was the only team to hold the Griffins to fewer than eight runs. The Griffins enter as the No. 4 seed again and have eight consecutive wins as a No. 4 seed in the tournament. In 2016 and 2015, Seton Hill was eliminated one game before the championship round.
• Seton Hill is riding a six-game winning streak and has won nine of its last 10.
• Millersville and Seton Hill are the top two offenses in the PSAC. The teams are tied for the league lead in batting average (.309). Millersville ranks first in runs scored (7.8 per game) and Seton Hill is second (6.9 per game). Both teams have 46 home runs, which rank third in the PSAC. Seton Hill leads the league with 73 hit-by-pitches. It also ranks second in stolen bases with 106 steals in 138 tries.
• Tommy Pellis (.367) and Andrew Chuba (.367) rank in the top 10 in the league in hitting, making Seton Hill one of just two teams with two batters in the top 10.
• The Griffins rank ninth in the league in team ERA (5.61). While Seton Hill ranks third in strikeouts (8.1 per game), it also ranks fourth in walks allowed (4.1 per game).

A NOT-SO-REGULAR SEASON
• The latest NCBWA Division II poll ranked Millersville No. 6 and the Collegiate Baseball coaches' poll had Millersville at No. 17. Millersville's 23-5 PSAC East record and .821 in-division winning-percentage is the second-best in program history, narrowly edged by the .893 winning percentage posted by the 2016 team which went 25-3.
• Millersville swept three of the seven division series--a feat matched only by the 2016 team, which swept four. The 37 regular season wins rank as the second-most in program history.

BREAKTHROUGH SEASON
• Junior Drew Miller put up some of the best numbers in the PSAC this season, going 6-1 with a 3.29 ERA and .210 batting average against. He enters the tournament ranked seventh in opponent batting average. In his last 11 starts, Miller is 6-0 with a 2.12 ERA, .193 batting average against and has been a part of three shutout wins. He was nearly un-hittable against the PSAC East, posting a 1.09 ERA and .180 batting average against in seven starts.

MR. CONSISTENCY
• The 2018 PSAC East Pitcher of the Year Eli Nabholz is likely in the conversation to win the award again in 2019 after going 9-1 with a 3.22 ERA overall and posting a 6-0 record with a 2.29 ERA against the Eastern Division. Nabholz is second in the league in innings pitched and leads in strikeouts. In three seasons with the Marauders, Nabholz has won at least seven games, posted an ERA of 3.22 or lower and a batting average against of .247 or lower. He ranks sixth in career wins (24) and needs one to tie Tad Barton for fifth. He is also fifth in complete games and first in career strikeouts with 245--one ahead of teammate Cordell Shannon.
• Nabholz is currently tied for the team lead in wins but is looking to become the first pitcher in program history to out-right lead the team in wins in three consecutive seasons. Chris Murphy led the team in wins in 2013 and tied for the lead in 2014 and 2015.

DEFENSE IS KEY
• Millersville ranks second in the PSAC in fielding percentage (.971). The Marauders averaged just .78 errors per game in the 37 wins, going error-free in 19 of those games. The Marauders averaged 1.25 errors per game in the 12 losses and went error-free just three times.
• Eric Callahan (shortstop) and Kaylor Kulina (second base) are the top fielding players at their position in the PSAC. Callahan leads all PSAC players with 103 assists and owns the best fielding percentage among all shortstops. Kulina is sixth in assists and his .975 fielding percentage is best among all players with 75 or more assists.
• Millersville's pitchers also hold runners well. While the Marauders have thrown out just five runners, they have allowed just 25 stolen bases, which is second-fewest in the PSAC.

FIVE-TOOL PLAYER
• Leadoff hitter and center fielder Cole Friese is the engine that makes the Marauders go. Friese is on track to join Chas McCormick as the only Marauders to lead the team in both home runs and stolen bases in the same season. He is already the first player with double-digit home runs and 20-plus steals in the same season.
• If Friese' numbers also have him ranked in the top 10 in single-season slugging percentage, runs scored, triples, total bases, steals and home runs. With 63 runs, Friese is just three shy of the single-season record. He is tied for fourth in home runs and triples. With 125 total bases, he already ranks sixth and is just 13 shy of the program record.
• Friese leads the PSAC in hits and runs and ranks 10th in RBIs, sixth in doubles and home runs, third in triples and fourth in steals.
• Friese started the season by reaching base in 32 consecutive games. He scored at least one run in 35 of the team's 49 games. The Marauders went 7-7 when he did not score a run and 30-5 when he did. All 11 of Friese's home runs have come in games that Millersville has won.
• Friese stole just one base in four tries in the first 12 games but has gone 24-for-25 over the last 37 games.

HEATING UP
• Jimmy Cain's batting averaged had dipped to .174 on March 24, but in the 25 games since, he has hit .333 (28-for-84) with 24 runs and a team-leading 30 RBIs. Cain has also hit four home runs in that span.

POWER GAME
• Dominic Hardaway's 11 home runs this season are tied for the team lead and rank fourth all-time. Hardaway has joined Ryan Brink (1997-00) and Matt Knox (1999-01) as the only players in program history with two seasons with seven or more home runs. In just two seasons, Hardaway has climbed to No. 8 in career home runs at Millersville.
• The Marauders' 46 home runs are the most by a Millersville team since the 1998 club set a school record with 57. This season's team is also within 14 of the school record for doubles.

DOUBLE TROUBLE
• Ben Snyder's 19 doubles are tied for the PSAC lead and it is the second-consecutive season that he has hit 19 doubles. He is the only player in program history with two seasons of 19 doubles. Snyder, Derek Kline and Zach Stone are the only players with two entries in the single-season top 10. Snyder trails Derek Kline's school record for career doubles (61) by two.

PATIENCE AT THE PLATE
• Luke Trainer's 32 walks rank second in the PSAC. One more will put Trainer in a tie for the 10th-most in a single season at Millersville. Trainer's .450 on base percentage leads the team. In his two seasons, he has walked 49 times compared to 38 strikeouts.

ON THE ROAD
• Millersville went 11-1 in neutral site games, out-scoring teams 128-38 and hitting .364 while holding opponents to a .211 average. The Marauders were not as successful in true road games, going 14-8. While they still out-scored opponents 178-111 in those road games, the team ERA was 5.71 compared to the 6.94 of the opponents.
