Bloomsburg, Pa. - Facing the No. 3 team in the Atlantic Region that defeated it earlier in the season, the Millersville University men's tennis team was unable to upset Edinboro in the PSAC Semifinals on Friday afternoon at a neutral site at Bloomsburg.

The Marauders (8-14, 3-2 PSAC) were making their first playoff appearance since the 2011-12 season, while the Fighting Scots (15-5, 4-1 PSAC) will face Mercyhurst in the PSAC Championship match tomorrow.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• Carlos Martinez-Lucas and Peter Landis teamed up to take flight one doubles, 6-4. Frank Yanni and Rodrigo Lorencin lost a very well-fought flight two doubles match, 7-5, and Ben Fellman and Pearson Clary also played well in a 6-3 loss at flight three.
• Edinboro won the flight two, four and six singles matches to clinch the victory. Millersville was locked in very close battles at every other singles match at the time the match was called. Martinez-Lucas narrowly lost a 7-2 tiebreaker in the first set at flight one, Yanni dropped the first set at flight three, 6-2, but was leading the second set, 5-4, at the time the match was called and Lorencin was ready to go to a third set at flight five after taking the first set, 6-3, before dropping the second set, 6-4.

• "We played phenomenal doubles today. They crushed us in doubles last time at Edinboro, but this was a different story. We came so close to taking the doubles point and I'm curious what might have happened if that had been the case."
• "We battled hard in singles, but it's so hard to win four singles matches against a good opponent."
• "I have a lot of differing feelings about this season. I'm thrilled with how hard we played and how far we've come. There is always a little more you can do, so it's hard not to think we could have won a few more matches. But, I'm very pleased and excited about where the program is heading with all the great young talent we have."

NOTES
• This year was been a remarkable turnaround for Millersville, who won just two PSAC matches over its previous six seasons and whose eight wins this season are its most since the 2010-11 campaign.
• The Fighting Scots have now won nine-straight matches against the Marauders, but Millersville still leads the all-time series, 17-11.
• This marked the final match of Peter Landis' and Pearson Clary's collegiate careers.
