
Women's tennis defeats University of the Sciences, 5-2

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Millersville University women's tennis team cruised to a 5-2 road win at the University of the Sciences on Thursday evening. It marks the Marauders third-straight victory, their longest win streak.
Millersville improves to 6-13, while the Devils fall to 7-8.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• Katina Jones and Jasmine Morris won their flight one doubles match, 6-1, and then Megan Rovenolt and Corinne Grohoski clinched the doubles point for the Marauders with a 6-4 win at flight two doubles.
• University of the Sciences won the flight four and five singles matches to take a 2-1 lead, but Jones' 6-4, 6-3 victory at flight one singles tied up the match. The remaining three singles matches all went three sets.
• Kelsey Heckert dropped the first set of her flight three singles match, 6-2, but then won the following two sets by the score of 6-2. Lauren Weaver won a nail-biting 10-8 tiebreaker in the first set of her flight six singles match, and then clinched the victory for the Marauders when she took the second set, 6-3. Morris dropped the first set of her flight two singles match, 6-3, but then took the second set, 6-3, and edged out her opponent in a 7-2 tiebreaker in the final set.
NOTES
• This marks the first time Millersville has had a three-game win streak since the 2015-16 season.
• The all-time series between these two teams is now tied, 3-3.

• The Marauders will be back in action on Saturday, April 13 when they travel to Jefferson for a 12 p.m. match.
