Orlando, Fla. - The Millersville University men's tennis team lost its final match of its spring break trip, 4-0, to Northwood on Friday afternoon. The match was played to decision due to the hot weather.
The Marauders fall to 1-9, while the Timberwolves improve to 5-5.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• Carlos Martinez-Lucas and Peter Landis trailed just 5-4 in their flight one doubles match before it was cut short.
• Frank Yanni won the first set of his flight three singles match, 6-4, and trailed 4-0 in the second set before the match was called.
HEAD COACH MATT HELSEL QUOTES
• "We played some good tennis this week. We pinpointed some areas that we can improve on, but we are returning as a better team than before we left."
• "It's all part of the development process. We just need to figure out how to close out tight matches and how to consistently secure the doubles point."
NOTES
• This was the first meeting between these two teams in program history.
UP NEXT
• Millersville returns from down south and travels to Daemen (N.Y.) on Friday, March 22 for a 9 p.m. match.
