ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
• With a PSAC Tournament playoff spot already clinched, the Millersville women's volleyball team enters the final week of the regular season with three home matches left to improve its seeding and strengthen its resume for a NCAA Atlantic Regional appearance. The week begins Tuesday against PSAC Southeast rival West Chester. The team is encouraging fans to wear white to the match to create a "white out" environment for the match.
• Millersville's 22 wins are the most for the program since 1997 and the Marauders are just two wins away from tying the program record for wins in a season. PSAC play expanded in 2008, and Millersville's 12 league wins this year are the most in the expansion era. Millersville will also play in the PSAC Tournament in back-to-back season for the first time since 1998-1999. Currently, the Marauders are in fifth place in the PSAC standings but trail Shepherd and East Stroudsburg by just one match. A top-four seed would give Millersville a home match in the first round. In addition to West Chester, Millersville also has Shepherd and Shippensburg remaining on the schedule. Both teams are ahead of the Marauders in the PSAC and NCAA Atlantic Regional standings.
• Millersville is 11-0 at home this season and have won 21 in a row dating back to September 2018. Seven of Millersville's last eight home matches have been decided in straight sets. Overall, Millersville has won four in a row and seven of its last eight.
Jayci Suseland recorded 35 kills to just five errors in her last two matches. She ranks fourth in the PSAC in kills per set (3.85), but it is her efficiency that sets her apart. Of the 12 players in the league with at least 300 kills, only three rank in the top 15 in hitting percentage. Suseland ranks second in hitting percentage (.334) and the next closest of that group is Shippensburg's Samantha Webber, who is fourth and has 75 fewer kills and 162 fewer attempts than Suseland.
• Suseland is closing in on history. With 385 kills, she is 19 kills away from breaking Millersville hall of famer Abby Hafer's single-season school record of 403 which was set in 1995. Suseland has already joined Hafer as the only players in program history with two seasons with 385 or more kills. Hafer's career total of 1,413 kills has stood as a school record since 1995. With 770 kills in two seasons as a Marauder, combined with her two-year total from Grand Valley State, Suseland has 1,396 kills--18 away from Hafer's total.
• Suseland isn't the only Marauder zeroing in on records. Setter Katie Laughman ranks third in the PSAC in total assists with 1,038. She is 79 assists away from topping the single-season record of 1,116 set by Missy Rauhauser in 1992. Laughman has already joined Rauhauser as the only two players in program history with two seasons of 1,000 assists, and she is the only player in program history with three seasons of 900 assists.
Lindsey Blevins has 975 career kills and needs just 25 more to become the 10th player in program history with 1,000 career kills.
