
Blatt named All-PSAC East Division Shortstop

Lock Haven, Pa. – Sophomore Rebecca Blatt was named All-PSAC Eastern Division at the shortstop position, voted by the league's coaches. Blatt ranked among the PSAC leaders in doubles (13), RBIs (52) and home runs (11).
Blatt concluded her sophomore campaign with a .355 batting average and .709 slugging percentage. Blatt broke Millersville's single-season home run record on April 4 before being surpassed by her teammate and freshman Faith Willenbrock. She led the PSAC in RBIs with 52 and ranked second in the conference in home runs (11). Blatt won PSAC Athlete of the Week on April 2 after a five-home run week on April 2. Blatt went .500 on the week, going 11 for 22.
The only player in the PSAC to surpass Blatt's power numbers was Willenbrock, who the PSAC coaches did not vote freshman of the year or to the All-PSAC East Team despite her leading the league in home runs with 14 and slugging percentage at .797. Willenbrock ranked eighth in the entire PSAC in hitting with a .391 average. She also ranked eighth in hits and fifth in RBIs with 43. Willenbrock was also a two-time PSAC East Athlete of the Week. Shippensburg's Courtney Coy was the voted the division freshman of the year while hitting .280 with a .305 on base percentage, eight runs scored, 19 RBIs and zero home runs. Coy also posted a 4.15 ERA and .306 batting average against in nine pitching appearances.
Millersville reached the PSAC Tournament for the second time in the last three seasons, posting a 23-20 record with seven of those losses coming by one run.
