
Women’s tennis defeats Shepherd, 8-1

Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville University women's tennis team claimed an 8-1 victory over Shepherd University Sunday afternoon. The Marauders earned their second win of the season.
The Marauders won all of the doubles matches. Both the No.1 and No. 2 doubles won 8-5. The No. 3 doubles team, freshman duo Victoria Hanus and Lauren Weaver, won by forfeit. Millersville's No. 2 doubles, junior duo Haley Nauman and Kelly Hershey won their first doubles match as a team.
At No. 1 singles, junior Katina Jones defeated Zoie O'Neil 6-0, 6-0. Jones earned her eighth victory of the season in singles matches. At No. 2 singles, freshman Megan Rovenolt captured her second win of the season by defeating Alisha Adkins in 6-1, 6-3 fashion.
Hanus (No. 4 singles) got her second win of the season by winning 6-1, 6-4. Hershey won 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 5 singles matchup. Weaver won her singles match by forfeit.
The Marauders now head into the last three conference matchups of the regular season to determine if the team will go to the 2018 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament. Millersville starts the matchups with a home match against East Stroudsburg on Tuesday, April 10 at 3 p.m.
