
Women’s tennis picks up 7-2 win over Shippensburg

Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville University women's tennis team defeated Shippensburg 7-2 in its final Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match of the season Saturday afternoon at McComsey Courts.
The Marauders won all but one singles match. No. 1 single Katina Jones and No. 4 single Victoria Hanus won 6-1, 6-2 against their opponents. Jones captured her 10th victory of the season while Hanus earned her sixth.
No. 2 singles Megan Rovenolt defeated Kaylin Gallagher, 6-2, 6-4. Rovenolt earned her fourth win of the season. In the No. 5 singles match, junior Kelley Hershey won her first set, 6-3 and then had a 6-1 second set victory. Emily Borger won her first match of the season by defeating Victoria Galanti. Borger claimed the first set with a seven point tiebreaker win. Borger triumphed in the second set, 6-2.
In the No. 1 doubles match, Jones and Rovenolt defeated their opponents, 8-2. Hanus and Weaver, in the No. 3 doubles, earned their third win of the season as a team in an 8-4 fashion.
The Marauders have one more match on Friday, April 20 against University of the Sciences at McComsey Courts. The match begins at 3 p.m.
