Slippery Rock, Pa. - The Millersville University women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 sweep by Slippery Rock on Sunday afternoon.
The Marauders drop to 2-5 overall, while The Rock improve to 3-0 to finish off its fall season.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• Looking for their fifth-straight doubles win, the duo of Victoria Hanus and Kelsey Heckert lost their flight three doubles match, 6-3.
• Heckert lost her flight two singles match, 6-0, 6-2, and Hanus fell in her flight four singles match by the same score.
COACH MATT HELSEL QUOTES
• "We played a very tough and experienced team today and I thought we played very well in doubles. They forced us to play more aggressively and we did."
• "We get better every day. We are starting to click. As long as we stay positive and accept that there will be hard lessons along the way, we're going to be a very good team."
NOTES
• This was the first meeting between these two teams since Slippery Rock won 9-0 at a neutral site in Hilton Head, S.C. in 2015.
UP NEXT
• Millersville concludes its fall season with a home match against Jefferson on Sunday, Oct, 14 at 1 p.m. on the McComsey Tennis Courts. That match was originally scheduled for Sept. 23, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
