
Women's tennis drops two matches in difficult scheduling turnover

Orlando, Florida -- The Millersville women's tennis team fell to Oklahoma Baptist University 9-0 Wednesday night and 7-2 against the University of Charleston West Virginia Thursday afternoon.
Oklahoma Baptist cruised to victory as they held Millersville to only four game wins. Millersville fared better against Charleston as they won two matches and lost two close ones. Sophomore Katina Jones won a tight match against Intercollegiate Tennis Association's no. 45 ranked player Kristine Gegeshidze. Jones won the first game in a tight 7-6 finish then took the second game 6-3. Sophomore Kelley Hershey won comfortably 6-3 and 6-1. Sophomore Haley Nauman split games before losing her tiebreaker game. Hershey and sophomore Jessica Soullaird lost a nail biter doubles match 9-8 while Jones and sophomore Sarah Sambrick lost 8-5 against Charleston's double team featuring Gegeshidze.
The women's team plays their final spring break match against the University of North Georgia March 17.
