Box Score Johnstown, Pa. - A three-set loss (25-21, 25-20, 25-22) at Central Division-leading Pitt-Johnstown Friday officially eliminated Millersville volleyball from PSAC Tournament consideration.
Millersville (17-10, 8-9 PSAC) entered the weekend needing two wins paired with two Edinboro losses to claim the eighth seed in the PSAC Tournament. But Pitt-Johnstown (23-7, 13-4) removed all the drama, totaling 42 kills to Millersville's 31 while holding the Marauders to a .076 hitting percentage.
Millersville committed at least six errors in each of the three sets and hit no better than .167 in any of the three sets. Freshman Lindsey Blevin led the Marauders with nine kills. Four Marauders finished with double-digit digs.
Kat Forry led with 16.
Pitt-Johnstown made plays late while Millersville could not finish in each of the three sets. The Marauders trailed just 21-20 in the opener, but UPJ scored five of the final six points including the final two on Millersville miscues. The Marauders led 20-19 in set two but Pitt-Johnstown scored six unanswered to win. The Marauders were in full control in set three, leading 22-18. But the Marauders committed five attack errors in a row and Pitt-Johnstown scored eight unanswered points to complete the sweep.
Millersville closes its season on Saturday at Lock Haven.
