GAME OVERVIEW
• The Marauders are now clicking. Millersville has won three consecutive games, all against PSAC opponents. All three games, which have helped the Marauders to improve to 6-3 (3-1 PSAC) on the year, have been decided by one goal. In fact, they have all been 1-0 games with the latter two not seeing goals until the final minutes of the game. On Tuesday, it was Kyra Brakefield who scored the game-winner for Millersville in the 66th minute of a scoreless game. Before that, it was Alexis Gazzio who scored in overtime after 70 minutes of no goals to give Millersville a 1-0 lead. Gazzio also had the game-winner in the game before that one, but that goal came less dramatically as it was scored in the first half.
• For her two-goal week, Gazzio was named the PSAC Field Hockey Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career.
• Defensively, Millersville has been outstanding of late, and that is with first-year starters Madeline Stehly, Jordan Goddard and Meredith Fagan all playing on the back line. With three shutouts in a row, Kylee Bair and the Marauders have only had to face six shots on goal. Millersville has only been faced with 22 shots in those three games. The last time the Marauders allowed a goal was four games ago against IUP. They have gone more than 226 minutes without surrendering a goal. Allowing just 1.22 goals per game, Millersville ranks seventh in Division II in goals against average.

ABOUT THE SERIES
• Millersville has defeated Lindenwood in all three of the matchups, which have all taken place since 2013. Lindenwood did not manage to score a goal in the 2013 and 2014 matchups, but in 2015, it finally got one across in a 3-1 loss. In the last meeting between the teams, the Marauders took 20 shots, compared to the mere five attempted by Lindenwood. Aliza Mizak was one of the scorers for Millersville in the game. Overall, the Marauders lead the series 3-0 and have outscored the Lions 16-1 in those three games.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
• In 2013 Lindenwood went 8-10 and improved to 10-8 by 2015. Last year, something changed as Lindenwood put together an impressive 16-3 season, winning its final eight games of the season. The momentum seems to have carried into the 2017 campaign as the Lions are now 7-1, keeping their red hot streak alive. Thus, the Lions have won 15 of their last 16. They have outscored opponents 23-13 while also doubling their opponents in total shots.
• Lindenwood and Millersville have one common opponent: Indiana (Pa.). Lindenwood defeated IUP 3-1 in the season opener at home while Millersville lost 1-0 at IUP.
• Bridget Hoogendijk has been a huge part of the success. In eight games in 2017, the sophomore has already scored eight goals. Hoogendijk is tied for fifth in Division II with her 1.00 goals per game average. She ranks seventh in total goals as well.  There are also nine other Lions who have managed to score this season. Five of these players have enjoyed more than one goal as well.
