
Greene and women’s golf takes title at Eastern Fall Invitational

Wayne, Pa. – The Millersville women's golf team secured its second win of the season at Monday's Eastern Fall Invitational. The effort included junior Danielle Greene capturing the medalist honor at Saint David's Golf Club.
The par 70 course played at 5,833 yards. The Marauders scored a 344 to take first in the tournament while host Eastern University was 21 shots behind Millersville. The Marauders placed four golfers in the top five of the leaderboard.
Leading the team, Greene shot a 12-over 82 to claim first in the tournament. Greene recorded the same 6-over 41 score on the front and back nine. She birdied the par 3 17th. Freshman Hannah Yanoski recorded the low nine-hole score of the team for the day with a 4-over 39. Yanoski shot a 15-over 85 to come in outright second place. Alvernia's Emily Gilbert was a shot off Yanoski's 85 for third place.
With a fourth place finish, freshman Belle Keopraseut scored a 18-over 88 (43-45). A shot off Keopraseut, sophomore Joelie Bennett earned a tie for fifth place with a 19-over 89 performance. Senior Alexa Strong finished out the team scoring with a tie for seventh.
The Marauders now play in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Women's Golf Championship on Oct. 21-22. The championship will be hosted at Hershey Country Club East Course.
