GAME OVERVIEW
• After a convincing 62-40 win over Kutztown and an overtime victory over Cheyney, the Marauders had their two-game win streak snapped by Shippensburg Saturday, as their PSAC East rivals led the entire way and won 62-51. The Marauders will go on the road for a pair of PSAC games this week, giving them a chance to sweep both Mansfield and East Stroudsburg for the season.
•
Alayah Hall scored 18 points and
Celeste Robinson registered 17, but Shippensburg shot over 44 percent from the field and had four players with nine or more points, led by Colleen Young's 15.
• Millersville shot just 39 percent from the field and are now 1-8 in games shooting below 40 percent. Shippensburg dominated the boards, outrebounding Millersville 34-26 and dropping the Marauder record to 1-8 when rebounding less than the opponent.
• Alayah Hall has scored 11 or more points in 10 contests this year, and Millersville is 7-3 when she scores in double figures.
•
Aunjel Van Brakle recorded three blocks in the effort against Shippensburg, and has the second-most blocks in the PSAC with 37. The redshirt senior has recorded two or more blocks in nine of the last 11 games.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
• Mansfield is giving up over 67 points per game while scoring just over 56 and have been outrebounded 782 to 688 on the season. The Mounties are averaging more than four more turnovers per game than their opponents and are shooting 35 percent from the field. Mansfield has struggled mightily this season, dropping six of its last seven games. The Marauders have dominated the series, including winning 19 of the last 20 matchups but fell at Mansfield 72-67 last season
• Mansfield's last win came on January 21 against Gannon but have lost the last two games to East Stroudsburg and West Chester. Brielle Kelly had a huge game against West Chester, scoring 27 points in 35 minutes but the Golden Rams topped Mansfield 82-72. The other conference win for Mansfield came on January 6 when the Mounties topped Cheyney on the road.
• Kelly leads Mansfield with 14 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while racking up five double-doubles. Tianna Jackson ranks second on the team in scoring with 10.6 points per game but has been held to nine points or less in four of the last five games. Kelly has been a force for the Mounties, scoring in double figures in 16 of 19 games including five games in a row with 12 or more points.
THE LAST MATCHUP (December 30, 2016: Ville 74, Mans. 45)
