Easton, Massachusetts - Millersville field hockey came into the season ranked second in the country, but had a tough test against fifth-ranked Stonehill Monday. In a Labor Day afternoon matchup, the Skyhawks downed the Marauders 2-0 behind goals from Shea Healy and Taylor Long.
The first goal of the game came in the 21st minute when Healy was assisted by Alexandra Dillon. Marauder goalie Sam Rumler was tested, facing seven shots, five of which were on goal. Stonehill added an insurance goal in the 53rd minute when Long slipped another one past Rumler, Alexandria Sylvia was accredited with the assist.
Millersville's loss was only its second regular season loss in the las two seasons. Both losses came by shutout.
