Mansfield, Pa. - The Millersville women's track and field team is set to compete in the 2016 PSAC Championships which will be held in Mansfield, Pa., from May 12-14. Last year the Marauders finished third in a field of 15 totaling 81 points and hope to have similar results in 2016.

Kiara Allen will compete in the 100- and 200-meter dashes as she recorded the fastest time in the PSAC when she ran an 11.95 in the 100. In 2015, Allen finished first overall in the 100 with a time of 11.91 and ended up third in the 200-meter dash. In the 200, Allen currently ranks second in the conferencewith a time of 24.87 and will be joined in both events by teammates Courtney Ingold and Clara Forney. Ingold registered a 12.45 in the 100 and 25.62 in the 200 while Forney ran a 12.84 and 25.98 in those two events.

Erin Madison will participate in the 100- and 400-meter hurdles as she ran a PSAC-best 1:00.50 in the 400. Madison paced the field in the 2015 PSAC Championships with a time of 1:00.78 in the 400-meter hurdles. In 2016, Madison clocked in at 14.86 in the 100-meter hurdles and will be joined in the event by teammate Arianna Camel who will also compete in the heptathalon. Madison placed second in the 2015 PSAC Championships 100-meter hurdles and was followed closely by Camel who finished fourth in the event.

As a team, Millersville will run in the 4x100 and 4x800-meter relays, ranking second and fourth respectively with times of 47.59 and 3.58.19.

The field events have been higlighted by Vanessa Hower and Sunflower Greene this spring as they will both compete in the hammer throw and the discus. Hower looks to defend her title as she has recorded a 2016 PSAC best mark 179-11 in the hammer throw, which set a Millersville record while Greene posted the third best distance with a mark of 166-6. In the discus, Greene ranks fourth with a throw of 141-4 and Hower ninth at 126-2. Greene also has the third-best mark in the shot put of 45-3.

Amanda Myers, Olivia Misner, and Deja Loose will also compete in the hammer throw, but it is the javelin in which Myers is a favorite as she posted a 149-3 distance which ranks second in the conference. Last year, Myers finished seventh in the event with a distance of 135-3

Erin Harman will compete in the pole vault as she has reached the height of 11-5 this spring. In 2016, Harman placed fourth at the PSAC Championships and set a Millersville record with a height of 11-6.
