Sarah Hessler is headed to Kansas to compete in the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships
EMPORIA, Kan. - Following the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships selections announcement earlier this afternoon, Sarah Hessler secured a spot in this year's women's hammer throw competition. Hessler currently sits 17th on the competition list, which can be found here.
This marks Hessler's first opportunity to compete at the championships after narrowly missing qualification during the indoor season. At the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, she placed fourth with a throw of 162-9, though that mark was not the one that earned her a spot in the event. Earlier in the season, Hessler recorded a personal-best throw of 184-4 to claim first place at the Millersville Metrics and earn her a qualifying mark in the championship event. She finished the season nationally ranked 17th, which can be found here.
Hessler will compete on Thursday, May 21 at 4:30 p.m. EST.
