Hessler closes out stellar senior season at NCAA Championships

EMPORIA, KS. - Sarah Hessler finished a stellar outdoor track and field season at the 2026 Division II Outdoor Track and Field NCAA Championships after competing in the hammer throw earlier on Thursday afternoon. Hessler finished 18th in the women's event with a throw of 166-3.

Hessler had a standout season in the throwing events, earning multiple top-five finishes and first-place medals. During the indoor season, Hessler recorded five top-five finishes in the shot put and six in the weight throw, highlighted by a first-place finish at the 2026 PSAC Indoor Track & Field Championships with a throw of 59-0. Hessler carried that momentum into the outdoor season, posting five first-place finishes in the hammer throw, five top-five finishes in the discus — including a third-place medal at the 2026 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships — and another five top-five finishes in the shot put.
Hessler was also named an All-Region Honoree in both the indoor and outdoor season by the USTFCCCA.Her personal bests are:
