Lock Haven, Pa. - Brianna Andraos was named PSAC East Pitcher of the Week after pitching 23.1 innings and posting a 2-1 record over four appearances, helping the Millersville softball team to a 4-2 week that included a sweep of East Stroudsburg.
Andraos allowed just three runs and 18 hits while striking out 16 in her four appearances. The senior tossed a three-hit shutout in her first start of the week against Bowie State and her seven strikeouts helped the Marauders to a 9-0 win over the Bulldogs.
Andraos followed with another complete game shutout in Millersville's 2-0 win over ESU. The West Chester East product scattered four hits across seven innings of work to give the Marauders their first conference victory of the 2016 season.
Facing No. 17 West Chester, the senior went the distance for a third time in as many games, but the Golden Rams were able to plate home a pair of runs in the fifth inning. Andraos allowed just the two earned runs on five hits to go with five strikeouts and one walk.
This is the first PSAC weekly honor of the season for Millersville softball and the first for Andraos since her sophomore season. Andraos sports a 7-7 record on the season and owns a 2.36 ERA across 92.0 innings of work.
Millersville has a doubleheader at home with Lincoln on March 29 (4 p.m.) and return to conference action with a twinbill against Shippensburg on April 1 (2:30 p.m.).
