Edinboro, Pa. – The Millersville indoor track and field team competes in the PSAC Indoor Championships this weekend at the Mike S. Zafirovski Sports and Recreation Dome in Edinboro. Nineteen Marauders qualified for the championships in individual and relay events. Millersville head coach Andy Young believes the Kiara Allen, Erin Madison, Arianna Camel and sophomore Erin Harman will lead the way.

"Kiara, Erin Madison, Erin Harman and Ari Camel are linchpins to our success as a team," said Young.

After having over a month and a half off from competition early in the season, Millersville has competed each of the last three weekends, most recently in the Susquehanna University Open and appear sharp heading into the championships.

Allen will compete in both the 60- and 200-meter dashes. Allen has been the runner up in the 60 meter dash the past two seasons and her 7.68 in the Susquehanna Open was the fastest time recorded in the PSAC this season. In the 200, Allen placed third in the Crusader Challenge only to drop her time to 25.99 in the Fastrack National Qualifier.

Madison will run in the 60 meter hurdles, an event in which she recorded a personal best 9.04 in the Susquehanna Open which was good for a third place finish. In the 400 meter dash, Madison registered two first-place finishes at the Covert Classic, and the Fastrack National Qualifier where her 58.06 time was a personal best. In the 2012-13 PSAC Championships, Madison placed second in the 400 with a time of 58.41.

Camel will take to the track in the 60-meter hurdles, the 60-meter dash, and the high jump. In the Susquehanna Open, Camel tied her own school record with a time of 8.97 in the 60 meter hurdles. Allen, Madison and Camel will team up with Clara Forney and Amanda Long to run the 4x400 relay.

Harman will defend her PSAC Championship in the pole vault after clearing an NCAA Provisional height of 11-7 ¾ in the Susquehanna Open. Harman will also compete in the triple jump and recorded her season best 34-5 ¾ at the Susquehanna Open.

Clara Forney will run in the 200- and 400-meter dashes in addition to the 4x400 relay. Vanessa Hower and Amanda Myers will compete in the weight throw while Sunflower Greene and Deja Loose will throw the shot put.

The Marauders finished eighth as a team in last year's PSAC Championships, and Young believes that performance can be replicated in the hopes that the team will be sharp come outdoor season.

"Our goal is to finish in the top eight teams," said Young. "This is a dress rehearsal for the outdoor championship in May."
