
PREVIEW: 'Ville track and field heads to the PSAC Indoor Championships

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Millersville University women's indoor track and field team is set to close out its season at the PSAC Indoor Championships at Lehigh University. The Marauders are sending 14 athletes to compete in 14 events across the weekend.
Marauders will compete in nine track events with two relays, four field events with two Marauders competing in the pentathlon. Preliminary rounds are Saturday and the finals are Sunday. The event timeline can be found here. All other information concerning the meet can be found here.
10 Marauders compete in the individual track events, with Katelyn Murphy leading the way in the 60-meter hurdles. She not only broke the Marauders' record for the hurdles earlier this season, but she will be running with the first seed in the event with an 8.81.Victoria Massoom (9.41) is in as the 21st seed. In the 60-meter dash, Olianna Oravitz is the fastest Marauder attending with a 7.82 for the sixth seed with Aasly De Leon (7.85) chasing right after her in the ninth seed.
Milan Snell competes in the 200-meter dash (25.60) with a 10th-place seed. Shelby Derkosh (59.33), who recently qualified for the 400-meter run in the Widener Winter Invitational, holds the ninth seed. Kira Chebishev, who ran the ninth fastest 6K in program history in the cross country season, is set to compete in the 800-meter run (2:23.17) along with Lauren Gula, who is seeded 17th. Bella Ruefle will compete in the mile, seeded 16th with Bri Pollock rounding out the group of track competitors for the Marauders in both the mile run (5:15.39) and the 3,000 meters (10:25.38).
On the field side, Ava Wilson qualified for the high jump (5-3). Oravitz is the lone Marauder to compete in both a track and a field event, as she competes in the long jump (18-3). Sarah Hessler holds the second seed in the shot put at 42-0, and also competes in the weight throw. Hessler currently sits second in the PSAC at 56-10. Chloe Enck also competes in the weight throw (50-2) as the fifth seed.
Wilson competes in the pentathlon as the 11th seed and Megan Hechler is the 12th seed.
