
Allen Wins 60-Meter Dash; Team Places Sixth at PSAC Championships

Edinboro, Pa. - The Millersville indoor track and field team finished strong on Sunday, taking sixth overall at the PSAC Championships, rallying behind Kiara Allen, who posted a 7.66 time in the 60-meter dash for first place.
Allen became the first Marauder to win the event at the PSAC Indoor Championships and made her a three-time All-PSAC performer in indoor, a feat that has only been accomplished by two other Marauders. Allen is the first Marauder since Priscilla Jennings in 2007-08 to win an event at the indoor championships and is one of just five first-place winners since the championships began in 2001-02. Allen also placed seventh with a time of 25.70.
Erin Madison ran a 58.27 to finish second in the 400-meter dash. In the 60-meter hurdle finals, Arianna Camel takes took eigth place overall with a time of 9.10. In the shot put finals, Sunflower Greene finished seventh overall with a toss of 41-5 3/4. Despite missing the finals, Deja Loose threw a personal record of 39-1 in the same event.
In the 4x400-meter relay, Erin Madison, Amanda Long, Clara Forney and Courtney Ingold combined to run a 3:58 for to finish fourth overall. Millersville's sixth-place finish is a three-spot improvement from the previous season and matches.
Allen (60 meters) and Erin Harman (pole vault) own NCAA provisional qualifying marks and now await word to see if they qualify for the NCAA Championships on March 11-12.
