Selinsgrove, Pa. - Senior sprinter Kiara Allen lowered her PSAC-best 60-meter dash time, and sophomore Erin Harman hit a NCAA provisional mark in the pole vault, leading a trio of Marauders in event victories at Saturday's Susquehanna University Open.
Allen (60-meter dash), Harman (pole vault) and Erin Madison (200-meter dash) each took first place in their respective events. Allen already owned the best 60 time in the PSAC and a NCAA provisional qualifying time but improved upon it Saturday, posting a 7.68. Allen also posted a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash (26.67), finishing just behind Madison.
Madison led four Marauders in the top five in the 200-meter dash. Behind Allen in third was Clara Forney (26.84) and Courtney Ingold (26.94) who both hit PSAC Championship qualifying times. Ingold ran to a personal best time of 8.03 and a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter dash as well.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Madison finished third with a personal-best time of 9.04. But finishing ahead of her was teammate Arianna Camel, whose 8.97 was not only good for second place, but it was her season best and tied a school record time that she previously set in 2014. Camel followed that impressive time with a fourth-place finish in the high jump.
Like Allen and Madison, Harman was a strong finisher in two events. Her pole vault height of 11-7 3/4 was eight inches higher than the runner-up finisher and pushed her onto the NCAA Championships provisional list. It was also just a quarter inch shy of her own school record. Harman also placed fourth in the triple jump with a PSAC qualifying distance of 34-5 3/4.
Sunflower Greene also captured third place in the shot put with a toss of 39-10 3/4. Deja Loose placed seventh at 36-3 1/2.
The Susquehanna Open was Millersville's final prep for the PSAC Indoor Championships. The two-day league championships begins on Saturday at Edinboro, Pa.
