
Track & Field Wins Four Events at Paul Kaiser Classic

Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville women's track and field team competed in the 11th Annual Paul Kaiser Track & Field Classic in Shippensburg, Pa. on Saturday and took home first place in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, hammer throw and javelin. Ann Kovacs became the second Marauder athlete to achieve a NCAA provisional mark in the hammer throw.
Kovacs won the hammer throw with her best distance traveling 51.53 meters, which marked a season best effort for the senior. Teammate Vanessa Hower was right behind her in second place with a throw measured at 51.30 meters.
Amanda Myers continued her strong freshman campaign by winning the javelin for the first time in her collegiate career. Myers had previously racked up two top-3 finishes prior to her first place finish at the Paul Kaiser Classic. The Red Lion product had her top throw travel 41.89 meters.
Kiara Allen won the 100-meter dash crossing the finish line with a 12.05 recorded time. The effort marks the third consecutive meet in which Allen has ran a sub 12.10 time. Allen also competed in the 200-meter dash where she finished in 25.18, which was good for a first place finish.
In the 1500-meter run, Abigail Daley finished in eighth with a time of 4:56.79. The mark represented a PSAC qualifying effort for the PSAC Championships next week.
Amanda Long, Madie Tropp, Erin Madison, and Aniya Gibbs teamed up to produce the Marauders top time of the season in the 4x400 relays. Gibbs ran the anchor for the quartet and as they finished with a 4:03.10 recorded time.
Millersville win next compete at the 2015 Outdoor PSAC Championship at East Stroudsburg from May 1 to May 3.
