
Marauders Finish Third at PSAC Outdoor Championships for Second-Straight Year

East Stroudsburg, Pa. - The Millersville women's track and field team won another two events bringing its total team point total to 81 on Saturday en route to a third-place finish at the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship for the second consecutive season.
Kiara Allen successfully repeated as the 100-meter champion with an All-PSAC finish that was clocked at 11.91. The mark represented a NCAA provisional qualifying standard and was .11 seconds faster than her previous best time of the spring. Allen competed in the 200-meter dash and scored the Marauders six points with an All-PSAC, third-place finish. The redshirt junior crossed the finish line with a 24.85 mark.
In the 400-meter dash, Aniya Gibbs qualified for the finals on Friday running her collegiate best time of 57.92. Gibbs finished sixth in Saturday's finals with a recorded time of 58.09.
The Black & Gold had two top-five finishers in the 100-meter hurdles. Erin Madison crossed the finish line second with a recorded time of 14.58. Teammate Arianna Camel was fourth and was just off Madison's pace as she was clocked at 14.61.
Madison won her first career PSAC Championship race in the 400-meter hurdles. Madison was clocked at a blistering 1:00.78, which was .88 seconds faster than the previous Eiker-Martin Stadium record. Madison concluded her day by running the anchor for the 4x400 relay team. The quartet of Madison, Allen, Gibbs, and Amanda Long finished sixth with a recorded time of 3:55.83.
For field events, Jess Fritshe finished 13th in the triple jump (10.88 meters) and Vanessa Hower was 10th in the discus (38.41 meters).
Amanda Myers earned the Marauders another three team points with her sixth-place finish in the javelin. The Red Lion product had her best throw travel 41.25 meters. The mark represented Myers's third NCAA provisional qualifying standard of the spring season.
