Edinboro, Pa. – The Millersville women's track and field team earned All-PSAC accolades in three events on Sunday at the PSAC Indoor Championships. The Marauders totaled 33 points and finished eighth overall, marking the fifth-straight season Coach Andy Young has guided the team to a top-10 finish.
During Sunday's finals, the relay team of Courtney Ingold, Aniya Gibbs, Amanda Long, and Erin Madison raced to an eighth-place finish with a recorded time of 4:02.71. The mark was the fastest of the season and the sixth fastest in program history.
Redshirt junior Kiara Allen, who broke the meet record in the 60-meter dash on Saturday during the preliminaries, followed up upon that performance with a second-place finish in the finals. Allen earned All-PSAC honors with the performance as she completed the race in 7.64 which also hit the Division II provisional mark.
Allen also competed in the 200-meter dash and placed sixth with a recorded time of 25.77. The mark represented a career-best effort in the event from Allen.
Aniya Gibbs earned All-PSAC accolades for the first time in her indoor career in the 400-meter dash with her third-place finish. Gibbs crossed the finish line in 58.37 which is the second fastest time in Millersville history.
Arianna Camel finished off her indoor championships with a 13th-place finish in the high jump. Camel's top jump fell short of her school record but was still a respectable 1.53 meters.
Allen (60-meter dash) and Erin Harman (pole vault) will now wait to hear back from the NCAA to see if their NCAA provisional times have qualified them for the NCAA Indoor Championships later in March. The outdoor track and field season will begin on March 27-28 at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C.
