Millersville, Pa. – The 2015 PSAC Indoor Track and Field Championships is set to begin this weekend with the Marauders looking to build off their seventh place finish from a season ago.

The championships will be held at Mike S. Zafirovski Sports and Recreation Dome on the Edinboro University campus. The Marauders have maintained the solid team depth from last year's roster and are infused with experienced athletes who have prior experience competing on the conference stage. The Black and Gold have never placed inside the top-five overall team scores, but according to senior Jess Fritsche the team has the potential to do extremely well this weekend.

"We don't necessarily train for indoor PSAC's because of the lack of facilities, but we do get high quality training and have worked extremely hard," Fritsche said. "I'm also expecting the underclassman to shine and have all of their hard work come to fruition. Our returners and upperclassman have gotten so much better from previous years so I really have confidence in the way our team as a whole will perform."

Millersville is led by a strong core of sprinters, a trio of powerful throwers, a plethora of long distance runners and a savvy pole vaulter. Freshman Erin Harman has already vaulted her way into the Millersville record books. The Hanover Pa., native recently re-broke her school record in the pole vault as she cleared 11-5 3/4. The mark will have Harman seeded fifth when she competes in the event this weekend.

On the track Kiara Allen has the biggest target on her back as she garnered her first ever All-PSAC finish when she crossed the finish line second overall a season ago. Allen in the midst of an even stronger campaign in which saw her re-break the 60-meter dash record when she finished first at the Susquehanna Invitational with a recorded time of 7.70. The extra pressure doesn't seem to faze Allen as she just once to run her race.

"I don't worry about anyone else anymore nor do I worry about performance lists or even looking ahead to NCAA's," Allen said. "I just run my race and trust in my coaches training for me because they are the ones pushing me to succeed."
