MARAUDER CLASH OVERVIEW
•    Millersville volleyball opens up its fifth season under the tutelage head coach Brian Smith. Smith has led the Marauders to consecutive PSAC Tournament appearances for the first time since 2005 and will look to add a third straight this season, which hasn't been done since 1999. The Marauders hold an all-time record of 34-28 in the Marauder Clash.

•    Goldey-Beacom is coming off a season in which it won just seven matches overall including one victory in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play. Kadi McCoy and Danielle Cipolletti were named team captains before the season started. McCoy enters her senior season as a three-year starter while Cipolletti transferred from Phoenix College and led the Bears with 550 assists. This will be the Lightning's first ever appearance in the event.

•    Virginia Union will be led by Kristin Madison who was named preseason All-CIAA and led the Panthers in total attacks with 595. The Fayetteville, N.C. native also tallied 44 blocks and 233 kills. This will be Virginia Union's debut in the Marauder Clash.

•    Chestnut Hill ended the 2013 season winning two of its last three matches but ended with a record of 9-21 overall and 7-12 in the CACC. The Griffins are 0-3 all-time in the Marauder Clash.

•    Millersville will face Holy Family, which finished its 2013 campaign with a 15-15 record. The Tigers are 2-10 all-time in the Marauder Clash. Holy Family made the CACC Tournament for the sixth time in seven years in 2013.

ABOUT THE MATCHUPS
•    The Marauders have never lost to Goldey-Beacom holding an all-time record of 13-0 against the Lightning. The two teams last met in 2009 with Millersville sweeping the match in three sets.

•    Millersville and Virginia Union have met just twice with the Marauders taking both of those meetings. Millersville swept both matches in straight sets.

•    The Marauders and Griffins of Chestnut Hill last met in 2013's Marauder Clash in which Millersville won 3-0. The Marauders won the first of these teams' two meetings in 2011 (3-1).

•    Millersville matched up with Holy Familly twice in 2013 including once in the Marauder Clash and won both matches. The Marauders lead the all-time series 5-1.

TAKING A LOOK AT MILLERSVILLE
•     Millersville begins with four matches in two days as part of the Marauder Clash. The Marauders then travel to Wilmington, Del. for the Wilmington Tournament and will play three matches in two days. After a one-match road trip at Philadelphia, Millersville will return home to open PSAC play against Clarion on Sept. 19.

•    This season's roster features Millersville's three All-PSAC East performers from a year ago including the East's Defensive Athlete of the Year in Brooklyn Smith as well as fellow second teamers Katie Lesinski and Mary Paul.

•    Lesinski has been honored by the conference in each of her first three seasons, Paul is the program's all-time career leader in block assists (255) and Smith is already sixth on Millersville's career digs chart (1,170).

•    Those three will be joined by 13 others including eight freshmen, four juniors and one senior. Among those players is Taylor Smith who was second in the league in service aces per set (0.47) and Kayla Wallace who has recorded at least 200 kills in each of her first two seasons.
