Results
University Park, Pa. - Kelli Farris, Ann Kovacs and Vanessa Hower placed fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, at the Jim Thorpe Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Farris took home fourth place with a personal-record finals' distance of 51.61 meters, which ties a previous throw from Kovacs (West Chester Invitational) for 34th in the country. Kovacs came in at fifth with a toss of 50.84 meters and Hower was sixth at 50.24 meters. Hower's best mark of the season is still her school-record hurl of 52.49 meters (West Chester Invitational) and that is good for 26th nationally.
Those three along with Kiara Allen and Erin Madison will now wait and see if they qualify for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships from May 22-24 in Grand Valley, Mich.
