Kiara Allen Places Eighth in Her Heat at NCAA Championships

Allendale, Mich. - Kiara Allen finished in eighth place in heat one of the 100-meter preliminaries on Thursday night at the NCAA Championships, but her time of 12.00 was not enough to get her to the finals on Saturday.
Allen didn't have an easy draw by any means as the top three times in her heat were three of the top 10 overall for the 100-meter dash. The winning time for heat one was 11.36 from Janae Johnson of Lincoln (Mo.) and the fastest overall time was 11.16 by Danielle Williams of Johnson C. Smith in heat three.
Allen's redshirt sophomore season was quite the one to remember. The Harrisburg, Pa. native garnered two All-PSAC finishes in the Outdoor PSAC Championships in both the 100-meters (first) and the 4x100 (second). The Central Dauphin product also had a good indoor season that was capped by a second-place, All-PSAC finish in the 60 meters.
