
Marauders Wrap-Up Spring Break at Shamrock Invitational

Myrtle Beach, S.C. - The Marauder track and field team continued its impressive start to the outdoor season by wrapping up competition at the Shamrock Invitational on Saturday.
On day three of the meet Millersville had its best finish come by the feet of a freshman. First-year athlete Arianna Camel placed sixth overall in the long jump with her leap of 5.12 meters.
In the 100-meter dash finals Kiara Allen ran her fastest time of the spring, finishing in a time of 12.20 and in eighth place. The redshirt sophomore also ran in the 200-meter dash and crossed the finish line in 25.37. Allen took home the 18th fastest time and just ahead of teammate Erin Mason who ran the event in 25.46 and in 19th.
Mason and Allen teamed up with Camel and Jess Fritsche in the 4x100-meter relay. The quartet sprinted to the 11th-best result, ending with a time of 48.25.
The Black and Gold's other top-10 finish came in the 400-meter hurdles. Sophomore Erin Madison began her quest for another NCAA berth in the 400 hurdles by running a time of 1:02.91, good for the eighth fastest run.
In the discus, Vanessa Hower led three Marauders with a throw of 36.16 meters and a 22nd-place finish. Kelly Kardos (28.43 meters) and Rebecca Grube (26.56 meters) finished in 48th and 53rd, respectively.
The Marauders now have two weeks to prepare for their only home meet of the season. The Millersville Metrics will take place on Saturday, April 5 at Biemsderfer Stadium.
