
Women's Tennis Closes Spring Trip with Trio of Losses

Hilton Head, S.C. - The Millersville women's tennis team lost a pair of matches on Thursday and one on Friday to close out its spring trip to Hilton Head. Georgetown College handed the Marauders an 8-1 loss, and Slippery Rock won by a 9-0 score on Thursday. Early Friday morning, the Marauders fell to No. 8-ranked St. Leo, 6-3.
Millersville, having played four matches in two days, fell to 2-8 on the season with the losses. Georgetown improved to 6-3 and won its fourth consecutive match thanks to sweeping all six singles matches. Slippery Rock evened its record at 7-7 with the shutout.
Millersville's lone win against Georgetown came from Nicole Daacke and Kaylora Thompson at No. 3 doubles. The duo improved to 3-1 on the season by topping Shelby Eden and Alyssa Kennedy, 8-2.
All three of Millersville's points against St. Leo came by default. St. Leo improved to 12-3.
Millersville opens PSAC Eastern Division action on March 25 on the road against Cheyney.
