Sambrick and Ryan's Wins Not Enough for Men's Tennis

Hilton Head, S.C. - The Millersville men's tennis team fell to Wisconsin-Eau Claire by a 7-2 score Thursday morning in Hilton Head, S.C.
The Marauders (2-4) received a win at No. 1 singles from Jody Sambrick Jr. and their second point from Dylan Ryan in the No. 4 flight. Sambrick topped Ryan Vande Linde 6-4, 7-5 for his third consecutive victory. His record improved to 5-3 on the season.
After winning the first set by a 6-4 score, Ryan squeaked past Josh Chuba with a 7-6 win in the second, giving him his second win in a row.
Wisconsin-Eau Claire (9-5) was overpowering in the other four singles matches. The most games any Marauder could muster in any set was two. The Blugolds swept the doubles matches as well. The closest match came in the No. 1 slot where Sambrick and Mertz fell to Vande Linde and Joe Meier, 8-4.
Millersville closes its trip to Hilton Head with a match against St. Leo on Friday.
