
Women's Tennis Gets Win in Darkness Shortened Affair

Hilton Head, S.C. - Rain canceled Millersville's first two matches of spring, and darkness brought an early end to to Tuesday's match with St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Millersville, however, led by a 4-1 score and was in the lead in three singles matches, earning the victory.
The Marauders (2-4) scored its first win since topping Harford Community College in September. Millersville swept all three doubles matches, and No. 1 singles player Elizabeth Wagner registered the team's fourth point.
In doubles, Wagner and Tori Davis teamed for a convincing 8-1 victory in the No. 1 slot. Alexandra Heller and Stefanie Fisher scored an 8-5 win in the No. 2 flight, and Nicole Daacke and newcomer Kaylora Thompson won by the same score at No. 3 doubles.
Wagner rolled past Carmen Stach by an 8-2 score. STLCOP's lone win came from Mascha Kurenok at No. 6 singles. Davis, Heller, and Fisher all led their matches in the first set when darkness set in.
Millersville has four more matches to be played in Hilton Head. It takes on Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Wednesday.
