Shippensburg Runs Away From Marauders
11/1/2014 7:00:00 PM | Football
Shippensburg (5-4, 4-4 PSAC) entered the game with the PSAC's top-ranked offense, averaging 509 yards per game. It did nothing to lose that standing, totaling 662 yards that included 250 yards passing from Chris Lawshe and 171 yards rushing from Blair Brooks. Wide receiver Trevor Harman caught two touchdown passes to move into first place in PSAC history with 60 total touchdowns.
Millersville (0-9, 0-8 PSAC) received 112 rushing yards from Myron Myles incuding a 71-yard gallop for Millersville's fourth quarter touchdown. It was the longest run by a Marauder since Ian Sadon's 75-yard run against LIU Post in 2012. Sean Quarterman entered at quarterback in the third quarter and completed a 49-yard toss to Trenton Petrovich and added 39 yards rushing. His 25-yard run followed his completion to Petrovich and led to Millersville's first touchdown.
Shippensburg scored at least twice in each quarter, but Millersville caused the Raiders to fail on their first five PAT's. Millersville blocked two PAT's and a field goal.
Millersville's 214 yards rushing were the most since the season opener. On defense, P.J. Santos totaled 10 tackles for the third time this season. Sean Dugan and freshman Alex Postell both tallied career-high 10 tackles. Drew Seaburg made his first career interception and Tanner Dean recovered a fumble to give the defense a pair of takeaways.
The Marauders travel to Cheyney next Saturday.
