
Men's Tennis Falls to Division I La Salle

Phiadelphia, Pa. - The Millersville men's tennis team faced some stiff competition Sunday afternoon in the Explorers of Division I La Salle University. The Marauders found the win column in No. 1 doubles but lost the match 7-0.
The Marauders took No. 1 doubles when Jody Sambrick Jr. and Tucker Mertz defeated Brian Balico and Joseph LeBate (8-3). No. 2 doubles saw Kevin Tran and Dylan Ryan matched up against Dale Fetterman and De'Sean Fennell with the home team taking the victory (8-1). Christian Boyer and Niko Mucci then lined up against Thomas MacLeod and Robert Kasinow and the Explorers came out on top (8-3). By taking two of the three doubles matches, La Salle earned the point for doubles play.
Sambrick Jr. fought hard against Fennell in the second set but lost in two (1-6, 6-7 (4-7)). No. 2 singles was highlighted by Mertz and LeBate with LeBate taking the decision (6-0, 6-0). Millersville was swept again in No. 3 singles when Tran lost to Fetterman (6-0, 6-0). La Salle recorded its third consecutive shutout in No. 4 singles when Ryan dropped the match to Kasinow (6-0, 6-0). Pearson Clary made his collegiate debut in No. 5 singles but dropped the decision to Balico (6-1, 6-1). Jadus was defeated by MacLeod in No. 6 singles (6-2, 6-2).
The Marauders are off until Oct. 17 when they return home to take on Walsh University at 2 p.m.
