Sambrick Jr. Advances to Semifinals; Marauders Compete in PSAC Individual Championships

Bloomsburg, Pa. – The Millersville men's tennis team competed in the PSAC Individual Championships on Saturday afternoon. Jody Sambrick Jr. won both of his matches to advance to the final four while the doubles pair was unable to make it out of the first round.
The No. 3 seed, Sambrick Jr. took on Mike DiSanto of Bloomsburg in the first round and won, 6-3, 6-0. In round two, the junior was up against Andrew Peterson of West Chester who defeated Millersville's Tucker Mertz 6-2, 6-2 in round one. Sambrick came out on the winning end 6-2, 6-1 and will play again on Sunday for a chance to play in the finals.
In the doubles bracket, Mertz was paired up with Kevin Tran. They took on Matt Maguire and Rich Lightenwalner of Kutztown and fell by a count of 8-2.
Sambrick will take on Travis Beck of Mercyhurst at 10 a.m. on Sunday in the semifinals.
