Millersville, Pa. - Chestnut Hill came to the McComsey Tennis Courts Saturday afternoon rolling, and Millersville couldn't put a stop to the Griffins' hot streak in the final home match of the year for the Marauders.
Doubles play produced three close matches, with Millersville taking two of three matches. Elizabeth Wagner and Tori Davis teamed up to beat Kelly Dennis and Morgan Oechsle in a 9-8 thriller before Alexandra Heller and Nicole Daacke paired to beat the combo of Axe Owens and Hayley Craskey by a score of 8-5.
Melissa Plowman and Kelsey Waite, who were both playing their final matches on the home court, fell as a duo to Nastia Shcherbakova and Maria Parapouras by a score of 9-7. In singles play, the Marauders were not able to take a match. Jess Taleff nearly took the first set from Danielle Knott, falling in straight sets by scores of 7-5, 6-3.
Millersville is now 5-11 on the season, while the Griffins' record ascends to 17-8. The Marauders' next match is tomorrow at East Stroudsburg. That match with the Warriors begins at 2 p.m.
